Choline and brain function

Choline helps the brain develop, and in earlier studies improved memory in rats. Here, researchers gave rats a standard diet with or without choline. After 12 weeks, researchers gave two tests that measured response to stimulus.

In the first test, the choline group adjusted better to new information, and in the second, the choline group more quickly learned and remembered a new response to a familiar stimulus.
