Curcumin reduced brain damage in epilepsy

Epileptic seizures cause abnormalities in brain tissue and in nerve-signaling chemicals, called neurotransmitters. Researchers in this lab study gave the anti-seizure medication Valproate or curcumin to epileptic rats. After 21 days, both valproate and curcumin reversed most of the tissue abnormalities and neurotransmitter damage.
