Fiber lowered chances of colorectal cancer

In one study, researchers compared 579 people who developed colorectal cancer more than one year after beginning to keep a daily food diary to a group of healthy people of the same age, sex and similar health factors. People who consumed 24 grams of fiber per day were 30 percent less likely to develop colorectal cancer than those who consumed 10 grams of fiber per day.
