Cranberry reduced urinary tract infection

Lower urinary tract infections are common in older men. Doctors in one study wanted to test cranberry in 42 men with inflamed prostates and higher chances of prostate disease. The men took 1,500 mg of dried cranberry powder per day or a placebo.

After six months, while the placebo group had not improved, men in the cranberry group had much improved prostate and urination symptoms, including more normal prostate-specific antigen levels.
