Quercetin may improve metabolic syndrome
In one lab study, researchers fed rats a high-carbohydrate diet with or without high fats for eight weeks, and then added quercetin for eight weeks.

Those who got the high-carb/high-fat diet gained the most weight and had the highest blood pressure, lipids, sugars, and fattier livers.

Quercetin reduced abdominal fat, lowered systolic blood pressure, and slowed negative changes to the heart and liver.

Researchers said quercetin improved most symptoms of metabolic syndrome.
