Dried yeast fermentate and inflammation
Dried yeast fermentate derived from—Saccharomyces cerevisiae— activates immune white blood cells to
help fight infection, colds, flu, and allergies. In the lab, doctors exposed white blood cells to dried yeast
fermentate, which reduced their inflammatory activity. On human skin, doctors induced inflammation, and then treated with dried yeast, which helped reduce inflammation. Doctors said yeast fermentate may play a larger role in regulating inflammation.
