Green tea polyphenols and aneurysm
The aorta is the major blood vessel in the abdomen that supplies blood to the body. The lower part of the aorta can enlarge like a balloon, weaken and rupture. In the lab, rats that consumed the green tea polyphenol— epigallocatechin-3-gallate—were less likely to develop an aortic aneurysm. Doctors said regularly drinking green tea may help control or prevent aortic aneurysm.
