Minerals & Calcium
Minerals are required for hundreds of crucial bodily structures and functions. Yet it’s virtually impossible to obtain optimal levels through diet alone. Even when the diet is rich in minerals, many people, especially the elderly, may not absorb or assimilate minerals well. While certain minerals like calcium and magnesium are well-known, there are at least 28 minerals known to have an established role in human nutrition.
All minerals are of equal importance, so a good multi-vitamin or multi-mineral supplement is the best way to ensure that you’re getting all the minerals you need in an absorbable form. Most multis and ‘bone builder’ formulas also contain all the necessary nutritional co-factors needed for the body to absorb and use minerals (like vitamin D for calcium).
