President Gary Raskin started out in 1973 with a small line of ginseng capsules and roots. In 1994 under a new name, GINCO International, the company began producing their own line of ginseng products under the brand name Imperial Elixir. To eliminate any quality gap, instead of buying powdered ginseng, they decided to only purchase the ginseng roots themselves. Only after they approve the quality of the roots do they ground them into powder for capsules.
