The Ginseng Company started in 1973 with a small line of ginseng capsules and roots. They later created a new company, GINCO International, and began producing their own line of ginseng products under the brand name of Imperial Elixir.
Using their experience and knowledge in the field, they decided that instead of buying powdered ginseng, they would only purchase the ginseng roots themselves. They ground the roots into powder for the capsules only after they approve the quality of the roots. With their Siberian Eleuthero, they have taken an additional step toward quality by using only 5:1 extract powder (it takes five pounds of root to make one pound of powder) to allow the body to assimilate this particularly fibrous root more easily and effectively.
