Use sports gels during sporting events, or anytime a non-perishable, easy-to transport source of energy is required, such as on camping trips or long bike rides or hikes.
Buying and storing tips
Look for sports gels in the supplement section of health food stores, and in some sporting goods and cycling shops. Store them in a cool, dark location for up to one year.
Varieties
Sports gels are available in a variety of flavors, including chocolate, vanilla, and various fruit flavors. They come in individual foil packet servings that contain 1–2 oz. (28–57g) of gel.
