Turmeric (Curcuma longa), containing the active ingredient curcumin, is a potent antioxidant which may have a multitude of health benefits. Turmeric extract, concentrated to high levels of curcuminoids, is becoming a popular joint health and arthritis ingredient due to its natural COX-2 inhibiting properties.
