These fish oils range from double to triple-strength and contain from 50-70% total EPA and DHA (two of the most important omega-3s). A typical 1,000 mg softgel of 50% strength contains about 300 mg of EPA and 200 mg of DHA for a total of 500 mg. The most potent 1,360 mg softgel of 70% strength contains about 544 mg of EPA and 408 mg of DHA for a total of 952 mg. If you are trying to consume about 1,000 mg of EPA and DHA a day, you would only need to take 1-2 softgels.
These are more concentrated than standard-strength fish oils, resulting in fewer pills to swallow.
