The microflora growth concentrate selected for PB8 is inulin, a natural carbohydreate from chicory root (Cichorium intybus). Inulin is also found in a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains. Inulin promotes the selective growth of beneficial bacteria in the intestine and is considered a "prebiotic".
The probiotic bacteria in this product are cultured using a combination of vitamins, minerals and dairy proteins. Though the culture medium is removed before encapsulation, there may be traces of dailry in the product.
