Answer: Sports Nutrition Editor
I use two different creatine products for my training. Prior to weight training or Jiu-Jitsu, I take a creatine transport formula (creatine plus dextrose). The dextrose or high glycemic sugar gives me extra endurance for my workouts and helps "shuttle" creatine into the muscle tissue by stimulating the release of insulin. I prefer
Fitness Labs CreaFit Creatine Transport because of the high quality and low price. After training, I usually take pure creatine powder mixed with a little fruit juice and plenty of water. This keeps my sugar intake down and my performance up! I have gained and maintained more muscle weight with creatine than with any other product!

I prefer the pure creatine powder form by
Fitness Labs or
Champion Nutrition. I mix 5 grams of creatine with 8 oz. of grape juice approximately 30-45 minutes before my workout. Then I take another 5 grams with my protein shake right after my workout. Like any other supplement, I cycle creatine 8-10 weeks on then 4 weeks off. I never do a so-called "loading phase". I have experienced significant gains using creatine including increases in strength, lean body mass and energy. I average 40-45 minutes of cardiovascular work 5-6 days per week. Creatine use has definitely been effective whether I'm trying to "bulk up" or just maintain my current body weight.
