After six months, compared to placebo and to women who did not practice Tai Chi, women who had taken green tea polyphenols and/or practiced Tai Chi had fewer signs of bone breakdown in the blood, stronger muscles and fewer signs of oxidative stress, the main forerunner of inflammation.
The dose of green tea polyphenols was equal to about 4 to 6 cups of green tea per day.
Women who practiced Tai Chi reported feeling better mentally and emotionally.
