After 12 weeks, while the placebo group did not improve, the creatine group could stand up from a seated position 15 percent more often in 30 seconds than at the start of the study, and 19 percent more often than placebo. Doctors said this was particularly interesting because both creatine and placebo groups had a similar increase in quadriceps strength by the end of the study. The creatine group also reported much less knee pain, stiffness, and better physical function than placebo.
