Jesse RobergeTo compete at an elite world class level in the men's Shot Put, my favored discipline, much attention is tied to speed and quickness rather than just raw strength and size. My goal to make the 2008 USA Olympic Shot Put Team requires intense training and a fine-tuned diet and nutritional program. Over the past decade, I have seen major improvements in my strength, speed, flexibility, and overall health by using a variety of nutritional supplements in my daily diet and training. Each morning I make a shake from Champion Nutrition's Met Max and 1 scoop of Champion's Met 2. I also use Champion Nutrition's Amino Shooter, which is a pre-workout drink mix. After working out, I use Met 2 and Champion's Pure Whey to make sure my muscles are being fed the proper amino acids for recovery, repair and growth. Before bed I'll take 2 scoops of Champion Nutrition Pro-Score. I also use Champion's JSF (joint support formula) to keep my joints and tendons strong and healthy. It is not uncommon for a Shot Put athlete to have the speed of a sprinter in short distances, the ability to lift obscene amounts of weight, and the flexibility to do the splits on command. It takes many years of dedicated training to achieve this. The same goes for good health. A slight adjustment in your nutrition program can have a world class affect on your strength, flexibility, and overall well-being! There are many ways to do this... I choose to throw 16-pound steel balls... finding your world class discipline is up to you!
