Both aging women and men can experience osteoporosis, the gradual loss of bone mass. Familiar approaches include taking calcium supplements and doing weight-bearing exercises, which help promote stronger bones (bones become stronger in response to the increased stress and tension placed upon them). Additionally, researchers speculate that creatine may indirectly promote greater bone density by improving muscle size and strength, even without exercise. Over 10 studies have discovered health and performance benefits from creatine supplementation with little to no side effects.
