Sperm quality and pregnancy rates improve with L-carnitine

Fertility rates improved dramatically in a study of 325 infertile men with enlarged varicose veins in the scrotum, according to a recent study. These men took 2 grams a day of L-carnitine and one gram a day of acetyl-L-carnitine. Nearly 22 percent of 325 infertile men between the ages of 27 and 40 who took these supplements achieved a pregnancy with their partner within nine months, compared to only 2 percent of men taking a placebo.
