Recipe Ingredients

In a standard blender combine the following:

10-12 ounces of distilled water (Experiment with the volume of water. It's a matter of taste, and since water has no calories you're able to pick the amount that you want.)

1-2 tablespoons of natural, non-pasteurized apple cider vinegar
Pat recommends the natural apple cider vinegar distributed by Bragg. Vinegar is very important because it aids digestion. This is especially beneficial for older people who have decreased hydrochloric acid in their stomachs. Older people should also consider Lindberg's Complete Digestant. Since vinegar affects the taste of this shake, consider taking it separately.

1/2 tablespoon Spectrum Naturals Safflower oil
Safflower oil helps slow digestion so you'll feel full longer.

1 tablespoon Lindberg Flaxseed Oil
This is a great source of omega-3s and is important for cardiovascular health.

1 scoop Lindberg Protein Blend
This is an all-natural, four-protein blend of non-GMO soy protein isolate, whey protein concentrate, milk, egg white, and hydrolyzed whey. It provides fast and slow release proteins to keep you satisfied for hours.

1/2 scoop Optimum Nutrition Pro Complex
This protein powder gives you the highest biological proteins available from whey, egg white and branched chain amino acids.

1 teaspoon of Fitness Labs L-Glutamine Powder
This tasteless, white powder is important to muscle recovery, especially after strenuous workouts. In addition, glutamine is important for growth hormone and immune health. Glutamine is a precursor to glutathione, which is considered a master antioxidant. This is a great weapon against the ravages of aging.

1 teaspoon of Lindberg MSM Powder
This natural sulfur has tremendous benefits. According to Judy Lindberg McFarland, an expert on vitamins and natural foods, sulfur is "necessary for healing and repair of most tissues in the body, especially our skin. Sulfur slows down the aging process. It is called nature's beauty mineral because sulfur helps keep hair glossy and smooth, the complexion clear and youthful, and the nails strong." It is also excellent for joint health. Since MSM has a slightly bitter taste, you may want to take it separately from your shake or take it in capsule form.

6-8 frozen strawberries
Strawberries are low in calories and rich in antioxidants. They help defend our systems against free-radical damage and disease. They also make your shake taste great!

1/4 cup blueberries
Blueberries are delicious and a powerful source of antioxidants. They help protect us from cancer and age-related illnesses.

1/2 banana - optional
Bananas are a good source of potassium and flavor.

1 packet non-caloric sweetener
Use Sweet'N Low, Splenda or Stevia

If desired, add a few ice cubes and blend until smooth and frothy.

This is the recipe for a medium sized male or large woman. For smaller body frames and appetites, reduce the quantities of each ingredient slightly.

The Weight Loss Shake is very filling! That's the idea, so drink it all. You'll feel full and satisfied so temptations to overeat are minimized. That's the power of protein and healthy carbohydrates.

Take the Weight Loss Challenge! At the urging of Pat Robertson, many of his viewers are shedding fat by participating in his Weight Loss Challenge. The Challenge includes drinking a High-Protein Weight Loss Shake which is made by mixing together the products in this article.

Pat Robertson is quite informed on nutritional matters and is much stronger and healthier than many men 20 years younger. He has taken the Lindberg Varsity Pack 2 (vitamins and minerals) and other supplements from Nutrition Express for many years.

And at the age of 75, he still does thousand-pound leg presses!

Here's Pat's Simple Eating Plan to Lose Fat

First, determine the calories you need to maintain weight (about 15 calories x ideal weight). Then consume 800-1,000 calories less than your maintenance calories. Doing this, you'll lose about 1-2 pounds a week. Exercise 30 minutes a day, alternating between cardio and weight training.

Breakfast: Drink the single shake recipe above.

Mid-Morning Snack: Eat one protein bar. The Universal Doctor's CarbRite Bar is an excellent choice. It's made with 21 grams of protein and has only 2.5 grams of net impact carbs.

Lunch: Eat 4 ounces of chicken breast or fish plus one slice of whole wheat bread.

Afternoon Snack: Eat one protein bar.

Dinner: Eat a large salad with veggies, 1 Tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil, 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar.

Mid-Evening Snack: Drink a smaller version of the breakfast shake using only protein powders.
